I think there was a bit excised from the final scene from Frozen, when Anna froze; this scene occurs in the novelization and even a Frozen coloring book I saw in Walmart.  After she froze and Elsa was clinging to her, Hans got up, grabbed his broken sword, and charged at Elsa again, but Kristoff ran up and grabbed him arm, pulling him away, and punched him out. This doesn't happen in the final film; after Anna freezes and saves Elsa, a magical shockwave blows Hans away and he stays down.

This bit was likely removed for a number of reasons, but I think they mainly took it out to avoid an obligatory "love interest saves the day" moment that appears in just about every Disney movie in which there IS a love interest, but more importantly, I believe they wanted to keep the scene focused on Anna and Elsa, since Frozen is not a boy-meets-girl story (though the element is there, it's very minor), but a story of sisters. Good call for the Disney company on that one. :)

As for the two kitties, well, he's nuts and she's a bottomless pit. XD Handsome tends to make mischief and do some funny things; for instance he keeps trying to wedge himself under the couch and armchair, even though there's no room for him under there. XD Just last night he managed to get behind the couch, and luckily he was able to get out! As for Missy, well, as I said, she's a bottomless pit; she seems to think about nothing but food. :giggle: Her former owner fed her people food, too, so sometimes at dinner, especially when we have chicken, she'll sit next to the table and give us Bambi eyes, hoping for a handout (that doesn't come). XD She was also fed whenever she wanted or was hungry (since her old owner was home all the time), but here, the kitties are fed on a schedule: once in the morning and once in the evening. Missy will have to cope; we keep dry food and water out for them all day, though, so they don't starve.

So yeah, still adjusting for them. Rather against my will I think I'm starting to bond with them....

Eesh, what a few days I've had.... on the bright side the tooth extraction sites are still healing nicely (no more sharp points) and the weather is mostly nice lately, but it has been somewhat crazy too.

Last week, Mom told me that a patient at the doctor's office (really a hospice patient of her boss, Dr. Brook) where she works was dying, and she had two cats that she was hoping someone at the office would take, not wanting them to go to a shelter. Most shelters here are kill shelters, and the one I know of that isn't is one that keeps all its available cats- all 300- in one large room. Mom mentioned this all in passing last week, and I gave no thought to it. I didn't think she'd actually go for it. I for one think we're not really ready yet for new cats- Mom for instance still cries when she thinks of Sammy, our last cat who only died somewhat unexpectedly last December. Heck, she was crying about her again this morning. It didn't sit too well with me either, but then on Friday night Mom announced that on Saturday we would be going to pick up the cats down in Pawley's Island. I thought it was too soon, and told her so- but she'd been told they were friendly (and Handsome was a little 'wild') and she didn't want them to go to a shelter. And so Missy (a gold/brown tabby who is older, somewhere between 14-18 years old) ans Handsome (a silver and white tuxedo cat somewhere between 2 and 4 years old) now live with us. They are cute to look at, but my god they can be tiring to keep up with. Their former owner let them get away with everything- climbing on counters and tables and such, lots of things we never let our cats do. Clearly we'll have some training to do... I worry endlessly that they'll break something or knock something over. Plus both of them keep trying to get into my room, which is always off limits to pets due to the volume of fragile and antique things in it. Handsome keeps trying to wedge himself into the corner under my bed- a little whiff of catnip seems to help get him out. But I have to keep my door closed all the time, even when I'm not there, just so they can't get in. Meaning I won't be able to cool my room down in summer (my room is alwaysa the hottest in the house for some reason). Oy vay...

I still think we're not ready for this emotionally, but we have them- hopefully they learn the new routine and get used to their new surroundings soon... I admit I'm not too happy with Mom for going over my head with this and just deciding to take them without really discussing it with me, since we were supposed to pick out a cat together when we were ready for one, but oh well.

As for me, bedtime calls- hopefully those two little night owls won't keep me up with their playing and wandering too much out in the living room tonight...I could hear them out there last night and they kept Mom up too.  ^^;

I'll post some pics of them tomorrow.

I had my final checkup at the oral surgeon's today after getting some wisdom teeth out on the 6th of March. Since then I'd developed a sharp little point in the jawbone near the extraction site. I told the surgeon about it, he took a look, and told me it was just a little ridge of bone, the result of the bone tissue still healing, and that it would blunt and smooth itself out over time. I was so relieved; I was worried it was a piece of bone or something else that would have to be surgically removed, as it sometimes the case according to my research. I'm just glad I won't have to go back again- he didn't tell me to come back for another appointment, so I assume that means everything is going as it should and my mouth is healing as it should, too- thank goodness. I hate going to dentists and such.... ^^;

Mom and I just came back from Target, and as we drove by the guardhouse of our development, there was a sign outside: "LOCK YOUR CAR". Now I've heard stories that homeless people live in the woods surrounding our development (it's situated in the middle of a nature preserve), and that they've on occasion broken into houses here, and now it appears they've been breaking into cars, too. This may explain why we occasionally see cops- actual police, not the security guards; they're always there- right at the entrance as we drive in. I know not all homeless are bad, but this is a little scary, the idea of our place or car being broken into...

On an unrelated side note, DA is running like molasses and glitching like crazy for me today. Arrrgh.....>_<

I woke up yesterday at 5 AM to use the bathroom, and lo and behold- I woke with what turned out to be the worst migraine I'd had in a long time. Good God, I haven't had an aura that bad in ages! Took forever to go away, even with aspirin... >__< So naturally, I spent much of the day resting, sleeping it off. In the afternoon I ran my usual Saturday errands, but went to bed early after dessert, since I still felt off.

Today was much better- no remnants of a headache, and the weather was lovely. The trees are starting to flower, but thank goodness my allergies weren't bothering me today. Mom and I spent the afternoon at the local racetrack up on 501, where one of the local vintage car clubs was holding "Vintage Racing", racing with vintage stock cars and modifieds. It was loud, but it was a lot of fun- I even came away with a free tee-shirt! The car I rooted for (a lovely number in white and gold, number 4) barely placed, but it was fun to watch. Should've seen the guy who came in first, Wade Something-or-other- his car looked like a little rust-bucket, but that thing was FAST!! No wonder he's the local reigning champ of vintage racing! :D Normally I'm not much of a car-racing fan, but it's different when it's vintage cars, which I love. :D So yeah, today was a great day- sucks that it's gonna rain tomorrow XD
