Sailor Moon/Sonic Xover. Hotaru Tomoe, Sailor Saturn, is arguably the most powerful of the Sailor Senshi, after Sailor Moon, and I can totally see Mephiles the Dark targeting her, to use her powers somehow, in his sick schemes. It makes sense, since she is the Soldier of Destruction, and that's exactly what Mephiles craves. He is in a "halfway form" between his Shadow-copy and crystalline form for a reason- I chalk it up to some kind of reaction to the amount of destructive power Saturn carries.
